Welcome to the Official Website for SelfReliant LLC!

If anyone saw our old logo at our old site you know it was time for a change, so I'd like to thank illustrator Jason Strutz, who can be found at www.StrutzIllustration.com for helping us with the new logo! The addition of a subtitle, "To Learn Deliberately" is also new, and it reflects our strong focus on deliberate, curiousity driven, Internet-empowered learning - as well as providing a cultural reference to Thoreau's call "to live deliberately."

SelfReliant LLC is part of an emerging movement toward DIY education or "self-education" on the Internet. Our unique stance is that the Internet is the University of the 21st century and that our educational infrastructure will soon need to make the necessary adjustments to actually accredit online self-education in the coming decades. How this will be made feasible, the role of policy, the role of the educational establishment, and the role of intellectual property are all areas of concern for this company.

SelfReliant is positioning itself to be both an innovator of Web 2.0 (and 3.0) "edtech", and an educational entity unto itself. Rather than starting a private school, hiring professors, and holding accredited courses, SelfReliant's approach is more like the nucleation of a complex network in our rapidly growing online social space. SelfReliant isn't a school, it's an accelerator of the natural intellectual growth happening online, just as a chemical catalyst accelerates a reaction, SR seeks to accelerate organic, experiential learning outside of any sort of formal school environment.

For more on those ideas, and how you can become more self-reliant online, please continue to our company's full Introduction...
